The history of metal casting
The oldest known metal casting is that of the copper frog, which is believed to have been produced in Mesopotamia in 3200 BC, when copper was a ubiquitous material. Later, around 2000 BC, iron was discovered. But it wasn't until around 700 BC that China began producing cast iron.
